Jim Tracy is known as “The Grampion!” Our “recovering CEO” was inducted into the Wireless History Foundation’s Wireless Hall of Fame and received the Bill Carlson Lifetime Service Award and the Idaho Business ICON Award. He has testified before the US Congress and was trained by F-16 Pilots. He has built several businesses both with family and private equity where he successfully launched, grew, scaled and exited several businesses through mergers and acquisitions. Jim has a heart for vulnerable families and founded or helped shape nonprofits using his deep network connections.

Jim Tracy is the Founder of The Legacy Companies and has 30+ years of experience in Senior and C-Suite Management of commercial development, construction and engineered products manufacturing firms. As the 23-year Chief Executive and founding partner of Legacy Telecommunications, Inc, Jim focused on creating a team vision for the people who execute projects in Legacy’s diverse areas of expertise. Jim has 24+ years of experience in tower and power line infrastructure construction, including managing multiple site and extremely remote projects.

Jim is an instrument rated Jet Pilot with 2000+ hours of flight time in high performance, complex, multi-engine & turbine aircraft. He is a frequent author and keynote speaker and lecturer on a select variety of topics. He hosts a weekly podcast; The Grampion. Jim paid high tuition for experience with civil and structural work and has led teams through difficult projects in hostile environments across North America, Hawaii, the Pacific Rim and Antarctica. He certified or qualified as a tower climber, welder, teacher, high performance jet pilot, snow cat operator, safety trainer, rigger, auctioneer, counselor and working dog handler.

He has been working on his credentials as a husband for 44 years and remains a work in progress. Jim and Sarah have five children, fourteen grandchildren and are both active in multiple firms co-founded with their family.
